I am an osteopathic physician. I received the degree of "DO" - Doctor of Osteopathy - from UMDNJ School of Osteopathic Medicine, with honors in anatomy, biochemistry and behavioral science, after graduating Summa Cum Laude from Hunter College.

Osteopathy is a medical profession that parallels the more familiar field of allopathic medicine, whose practitioners hold the "MD" degree. Osteopaths undergo equivalent medical-school educations and post-graduate residencies, and are licensed in the same way, as MDs; they are qualified for licensure and practice in the entire range of medical specialties, indentically with their allopathic colleagues. In addition, however, osteopathy includes an emphasis on musculo-skeletal mechanics, biophysical health and enhancing the body's ability to heal itself.
